Our Healthy Hoosier Virgin Sunflower Oil is naturally cold pressed. Cold pressed oils retain all of their flavor, aroma, and nutritional value. However, that's not the only plus! Healthy Hoosier Oil proudly grows the NuSun mid-oleic variety sunflower. Mid oelic oils contain a healthy balance of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. This balance of unsaturated fats make mid oelic oil the healthiest of oils. And, due to it's great taste and nutritional value, renowned cooks throughout the world prefer cold pressed sunflower oil. It's excellent for salad dressings, marinades, sauces, sautes, baking, and frying.

          Virgin Sunflower Oil Nutritional Facts

Sunflower oil produces more Vitamin E (antioxidant) than other vegetable oil.  Antioxidants counter balance cancer causing free radicals.

   -  Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats are essential, unsaturated fatty acids present in the oil.  They provide energy and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

-   Low in saturated fat, cholesterol free, zero grams of transfats, non GMO, unrefined & non hydrogenated.

   -   VSO is an ideal substitution for butter, shortenings and other vegetable oils.  VSO is a great combination for Vitamin E, Vitamin K and essential fatty acids.

   -   Exceptional quality, flavor & nutrition

   -   It's all natural.

              Health Benefits of Canola Oil

Our Healthy Hoosier cold-pressed Canola Oil has unique health benefits. Containing a-linolenic acid (omega-3) and linoleic (omega-6) essential fatty acids makes it one of the healthiest cooking oils, a ratio better than olive oil.

Addressing Canola's high levels of plant sterols, the Food and Drug Administration has made the following statement.

"Limited and not conclusive scientific evidence suggest that eating about 1 1/2 tablespoons (19 grams) of Canola oil daily may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease due to the unsaturated fat content in canola oil. To achieve this possible benefit, use canola oil to replace a similar amount of saturated fat and not increase the total number of calories you eat in a day.

Phyto-sterols found in Healthy Hoosier Canola Oil competitively inhibit cholesterol absorption in the digestive tract and thereby can reduce cholesterol levels by 10% to 15%.

Canola oil contains valuable amounts of anti-oxidant vitamin E, particularly gamma-tocopherol.  Vitamin E is a powerful lipid soluble antioxidant, required for maintaining the integrity of cell membrane and skin by protecting it from harmful oxygen-free radicals.
